This DVD about the 80th Infantry Division takes place in World War II during the Winter of 1944 and the early months of 1945 in Europe.
On December 21st, 1944 the 80th Infantry Division was fighting in the III Corps of the U.S. Third Army in Luxembourg with the responsibility of holding the southern flank of the German Bulge.

Div. push into Frankenstein, GermanyThe contents of this video show the action as was recorded by the 165th and 166th Signal Photo companies during these historic operations. The footage in this video is intended to be strictly that of the 80th Division and only shows other unit footage when two or more units are intertwined. Combat Reels has located, researched and compiled all of this raw combat film footage, then reformatted it into the DVD format for your viewing pleasure.
80th Infantry Division DVD Highlights
Some of the scenes included on this 80th DVD are of men passing through Mersch and Lintgen and then setting up in positions near Dillingen. In Larochette children are fed a hot meal alongside GIs in a chow-line. German POWs are searched and held at a regimental Command Post near Niedersgergen. A field kitchen is set up and GIs take a hot meal when relieved of guard duty. Major General Horace McBride awards a Distinguished Service Cross to an 80th Division officer. German POWs of the 6th SS Mountain Division are searched and questioned in holding cages in Zerf, Germany. A convoy of infantry load up in trucks at Weiskirchen and are then followed south to St. Wendel going through many small towns along the way. .
