This Invasion of Normandy film shows the actions of the men of the 90th Infantry Division as recorded by the 165th and 166th Signal Photo Companies, during the historic operation of the Normandy landings that started on D-Day, 6 June 1944. Combat Reels has researched and compiled all of this raw combat film footage, then reformatted it into the DVD format for your viewing pleasure.
The military history footage in this video is intended to be strictly that of the 90th Infantry Division and only shows other unit footage when two or more units are intertwined. This video covers from June 8th , the day the bulk of the Division was landed on Utah Beach, to the end of August, after the successful closing of the 'Falaise Gap'.

Wounded Americans and Germans are taken to the 128th Evacuation Hospital for surgery. Next, replacements for the division load trucks of the 90th after checking their equipment. Follow the 90th as they race south toward Le Mans after the breakout of 'Operation Cobra'. Gen. Raymond McLain watches his troops of the 90th move through Alencon to close the 'Falaise Gap' at Chambois under the control of Patton's Third Army. Finally elements of the 359th capture thousands of Germans by shutting the trap at Chambois, thus ending the Battle of Normandy.
